Being that I am a strong advocate for yoga, I would even go so far to say that it is the essence of true living. But what is true living anyways? Could we devise a formula to help us live better and be healthier? Here is what lies behind the science of true living.
Your lifestyle tells all about the person you are. It can tell a keen listener whether you are lazy, dedicated, or mindful. If you want to make changes to the person you are, you need to make changes in your lifestyle.
If you want your lifestyle to tell people that you are a successful and accomplished individual, building a corresponding lifestyle is a much better way to do so than to talk about what and who you are.
Find the activity that makes you feel like your best self. For me, that is yoga. But I have tried out many activities until I found the one which resonated with me the most. In my example, I realized that there are many things out there that we can do, apart from heading to the gym.
Not that there is anything wrong with going to the gym, but there are just so many activities to choose from. Give yourself the luxury of finding out what suits you the most, and you will not feel like you HAVE TO do it. Quite the contrary, you will do the activity because you will LOVE doing it.
In my personal life, I am restless, relentless and very active. All of this is nothing like practicing yoga, but that is the point! Yoga calms me down, giving me space and time to recuperate and get some energy for my hectic lifestyle, which I most definitely need.
Yoga also gives you a piece of mind. Meditating has amazing benefits on your entire being, which is still pretty much unexplored. However, once you start meditating, you will feel them most definitely.
